Eva Zeisel

I love the ceramics that Ms. Zeisel has created for over 75 years. Born in Budapest in 1906, she was one of the most influential designers of the 20th century. Known mostly for her ceramic work, she also worked in furniture designs and other home accessories. Zeisel’s ceramic and pottery designs are very soft, and sensuous. She always created her projects in sets that related to one another or other objects, and many of her designs even “nested” together to create a multi-piece design. She declared herself a “maker of useful things,” and continued to create beautiful work until the end of her life. Eva Zeisel, 105, passed away in New York on 30th of December, 2011.  Read more about her inspiring life in The New York Times:
